Catherine E. Foytik, MSW, LISW-S, CRMP, CHT, CRP-Founder of Core Cognitions, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Cleveland State University. She also attended the Institute of Holistic Health Careers and The Wellness Institute. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory Designation in the State of Ohio, a Certified Relaxation Massage Practitioner, Certified Heart-Centered Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Certified Reiki Practitioner.
Catherine is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the National Association of Social Workers and the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce. She has presented countless trainings and provided classroom interventions on a variety of topics including Bullying, Trauma, Parenting, Resources, Community Violence, Grief, Best Therapy Practices, Business Management, Corporate Wellness, Integrated Holistic Health and many more! She is part of Miami Jacobs College advisory board and participated in a Strategic Dialogue that included nationally recognized professionals on the topic of Wellness to assist COSE in the planning phases of developing a wellness program for their small business members.

Marty is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 20 years experience in providing assistance to all kinds of people with all kinds of problems and concerns. Marty provides individual counseling and couples counseling for adults. She also provides counseling for adolescents and college age persons. Sometimes these problems may seem small or may have grown into significant issues that are interfering with our lives at school, jobs or at home.
Marty works as a partener with you to help find the best solutions to your current situation. But also works for improvment so the future can be brighter.
She works with people who have everything from worries about money or health all the way to and including issues such as depression and anxiety. Marty also has experience helping people who are wondering if they have a problem with drugs or alcohol. Marty provides couples counseling for those concerned about their relationship, married or not.
She also works with high school and college age people who might be experiencing anxiety, depression, bullying, other problems at school, work or home.
Ms. Laska is also a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and a National Certified Gambling Counselor Level Two. Kelly O’ Connor received her Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor (LISW-S). Kelly enjoys working with children and adolescents dealing with a variety of mental health, emotional, and/or behavioral issues. She enjoys working with children of all ages, but finds a special interest working directly with the Autistic population. Kelly is a Certified Trauma Specialist (CTS) and received certification through the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. Kelly offers a unique approach to collaborate with children, adolescents, and their families including the use of trauma focused, play, art, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and holistic forms of therapy.
In addition to working with survivors of trauma, Kelly has successful history working with clients experiencing issues connected with anger management, ADHD, aggression, mood disorders, and developmental and early childhood disorders.

Korinne Gongos, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), Reiki Practitioner, Clinical Hypnotherapist, received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Justice Studies from Kent State University. She received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling also from Kent State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude both for Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees. She was inducted into the following Undergraduate National Honor Societies: Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board, Psi Chi, Golden Key, and Alpha Lambda Delta and was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota (Counseling, Academic, and Professional Honor Society International) during Graduate school. Korinne received her Level I Reiki Certification at the Branches of Wellness Studio. She completed Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy coursework from the Wellness Institute and is participating in a two year internship program to further enhance her skills.
Korinne has been working in the mental health field for 11 years and has been counseling for six of those years at a community mental health agency. She has experience working with individuals, families, couples, and groups and has worked with children ages four and older, pre-teens, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population.
Korinne has taught parenting classes to divorced parents as well as parents’ whose children were coping with a mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder. She co-facilitated group counseling sessions for adults who were sexually abused as children and parents of victims of sexual abuse. Korinne provided counseling services to students, families, and the community following the tragic school shooting at Chardon high school last year. She has experience with crisis counseling and intervention and has worked extensively with suicidal and homicidal clients.

John received his Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace, Master of Science and Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University, is a Certified Health and Fitness Professional from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. John's original plan at Baldwin-Wallace College was to become a postsecondary instructor in the subject of Health Promotion and Education (HPE). However, he became interested in a psychology/sociology program that is in affiliation with Case Western Reserve University. This program led to a master’s degree in social service administration (clinical social work). Along with becoming a Licensed Social Worker, the master’s degree in social administration allowed John to become fully qualified to supervise social service casework, manage social service agencies, provide direct counseling services and establish his own private practice in counseling.
John comes with a pleasant twist to further enhance your experience here at Core Cognitions with the ability to not only work with clients for their counseling needs, but also on their personal health/fitness and wellness goals. John worked over five years as a personal trainer at Bally's Total Fitness, worked at the Veale Recreation Center in the National Youth Sports Program, as well as at Case Western's athletic department (Sports Psychology) and hopes to continue to use this expertise in health/fitness/nutrition to further assist client's in their weight loss goals and overall health goals, while working with them on their mind, body and soul through an integrated approach.
John also had the opportunity to work in a variety of other mental health settings including: Case Western Reserve University at the Center for Collegiate Behavioral Health providing health/mental health, substance abuse, and fitness counseling for the students at Case Western. John had the opportunity to work with students in the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program in Geauga County, which consisted of teaching high school students on the topics of teen peer pressure, communication in relationships and relationship skills. He also worked at Bellefaire JCB Residential Home and facilitated the After School Program with elementary aged students.

Susan attended Harmony Path School of Massage and is a professional Massage Practitioner, specializing in relaxation massage, hot stone massage, body brushing, along with other relaxation modalities of massage. Susan also practices cranial sacral massage and will be attending trainings to receive a specialized certification.
